New Community Pathfinder!

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Nicole Cook brings over ten years experience working with non-profit and Indigenous organizations to support community and economic development in Manitoba First Nation Communities. When not working she loves being outdoors at the lake; swimming, fishing, exploring new trails and collecting too many rocks. Let's give her a warm welcome to the First Nations Waste Minimization team!

Safety First Training

The Safety First: 4R Hazard Awareness Training took place in Peguis First Nation and Bunibonibee Cree Nation on Landfill Safety back in July & August 2022. Lead Community Pathfinder, Amy Smith, discusses the turnout in our newest blog and explains why this training is important for landfill operators and waste management staff to receive before working in a landfill or waste transfer station.

Mamawe Ota Askihk Event

The FNWM team was invited to do a screen-printing activity and composting presentation at the Mamawe Ota Askihk event held at Sandy Saulteaux Spiritual Centre back in August 2022. Participants were offered the opportunity to choose 1 of 5 images to screen print onto a canvas bag or personal clothing item. Hear more about this event here.

FNWM Youth Activity Book

We're pleased to announce the completion and release of our new youth activity book on waste reduction (at last)!
It's filled with fun games, coloring pages, activities, and more.

While intended for elementary school children, it's fun for the whole family. Test your knowledge and request your free copy today.

Priority will be given to schools, educators, and students who are interested in promoting waste reduction within First Nation communities here in Manitoba.

If you've already submitted a request, it'll be mailed out in the coming weeks.
