Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Hometown Heroes 2022 - Colonel Ned Sanders and Mr. Fred Wilson

Colonel Ned Sanders (pictured above 3rd from left and Mr. Fred Wilson (not pictured) were this year's recipients of the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Hometown Hero Award. 
These two men have not only served their country, but have also served their community well.

MH Systems Inc., Wichita, Kansas, has been awarded a $24,690,720 firm-fixed-price requirements contract for the purchase of aircraft painters manpower support. This contract provides for the augmentation of 402d Aircraft Maintenance Group organic forces for depot paint and de-paint operations for current and incoming workload for C-5, C-17, C-130, F-15, Global Hawk and JSTARS weapon systems. Work will be performed at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, and is expected to be complete by July 17, 2027.  This award is the result of a competitive acquisition and 11 offers were received. No funds are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Sustainment Center, Robins AFB, Georgia, is the contracting activity (FA8571-22-D-0009).

Air Force Awards JADC2 Contract, Worth up to $950 Million, to 27 Companies

The Air Force’s plans for its portion of joint all-domain command and control, or JADC2, have taken a major step forward. The service awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, multiple-award contract worth up to $950 million July 1.

The IDIQ deal will give 27 contractors the opportunity to compete for work related to the Pentagon’s ambitious effort to connect sensors and shooters across all domains into one network.

What exactly the contractors will be developing for the Air Force was not specified in the JADC2 contract announcement, but it will have to do with the “maturation, demonstration, and proliferation” of technologies that are part of JADC2, the contract announcement states.

13WMAZ spoke with two women who came for the Base but stayed for the community.

Someone from Spain, Germany, and two Central Georgians came together to play the traditional Chinese game Mahjong -- a great example of the international diversity Warner Robins is known for.
