Thanks so much for your prayers for our trip to Italy. We got a lot accomplished in a very short time and we wanted to let you know a little about our trip.

First off Jordan led a short-term mission trip from Immanuel Bible Church.
A group of 14 people from Immanuel Bible Church signed up to go to Rome to assist Jordan's father, David Standridge who pastors a church-plant in the heart of Rome.

The team did some sight seeing a lot of eating and most importantly ran a VBS at a park that is within walking distance of Chiesa Vita Nella Grazia.
The Lord really blessed our week in Rome as many children and parents attended, several returned each day and many heard the Gospel.

Please pray that those who heard would believe and that the church would have great success in following up with the contacts made. You can watch a highlight video of the week here.
At the conclusion of the trip, Jordan got a chance to preach twice. Once In the morning at Chiesa Berea (started by his grandparents) and once in the evening (where his father pastors).
Even though his Italian is rusty he was able to preach both sermons completely in Italian.
It was a wonderful blessing to be able to preach at the church he grew up in and that his grandparents started over 50 years ago!
The day after Jordan left with his father on a train to visit Jordan's grandfather.

He hadn't seen him in a few years. He has recently moved into a nursing home since his health is declining. It was an absolute joy to spend time with him and see him, in fact like usual he had alot of gold to share.

Jordan wrote about his time with his grandfather on the cripplegate. If you'd like to read it click here.
Then came the time for Jenny to meet Jordan in Rome but things got off to a rocky start!
Did any of you know that if your passport is expiring within six months of your return date that you won't be allowed to travel?

Well, we didn't!

So Jenny was not allowed to board her flight the next day! So after a day of lots of prayer and calling expert travelers, she was able to secure a passport and board a flight a day late.

We are so glad that she was able to come because we had a lot planned and some big decisions to make. We visited three different language schools for Jenny, as well as three elementary schools for the children. We found a language school that is very good and that even helps people find temporary housing. Jordan then met a teacher at one of the elementary schools who gave Jordan his cell phone number and offered to help get all his children into the same school. That elementary school is within walking distance of Jenny's language school!

Please pray that we are able to find housing in that area. The dream would be that it would be within walking distance of both schools. We believe that it would help our transition to Italy in a great way.
It was an incredible two weeks. Many people heard the Gospel, many opportunities to do ministry. We spent many hours with family and friends and made some very important decisions regarding the future.

We leave more excited and sure about the calling that God has placed on our lives to move to Italy and to preach the Gospel there. We were once again reminded of the darkness in Italy and the need that the Italian people have for the Gospel.
