Following the amazing response to last weeks Plant of The Moment email, clematis ASTRA NOVA has sold out!
So this week we have decided to bring you not just 1 but
2 new Plants of The Moment.
Clematis 'Cloudburst' & Clematis 'Haru Ichiban'
Only until Sunday 29th September
Just £10.00 each!!*

A pair of plants packing plenty of flower power!

Either of these clematis will be enough to stop people who visit your garden in their tracks!
'Cloudburst' was introduced to the UK in 2015 by Thorncroft Clematis along with a sister plant called 'Skyfall' - (Nothing to do with the James Bond film, just a coincidence).
Both plants were bred in Poland by Szczepan Marczynski a world renowned nurseryman and plant breeder. We have a collection of plants from Szczepan on our website here - Szczepan Marczynski Collection

Clematis 'Cloudburst'
'Cloudburst' has eye catching star-like blooms with a broad light rosy-purple margin that merges towards an almost white centre and purply-black stamens. The blooms are around 2-3 inches across and come in abundance from June through to the end of September.
Hard prune each February/March at around 12-18 inches from the soil and your clematis 'Cloudburst' will grow strongly to a height of around 8-10 feet tall. She is ideal for growing on an arch or pergola and will also make a wonderful companion to other plants like roses and wisteria and due to her Polish origins 'Cloudburst' is a very hardy clematis too.
'Cloudburst' for £10.00 Only Until 29th Sept.

And from Japan - 'Haru Ichiban'!
Clematis 'Haru Ichiban'
Like a show stopper? Look no further!
'Haru Ichiban' is the most intense and striking flower that has all the 'Wow' factor any garden could ask for!
I am rather fond of this clematis because it was given to us by our late friend Masako Takeuchi of Japan. Both she and her late husband Hiroshi were very kind to my parents when they visited Japan and both are recognised as talented hybridisers of clematis. Hiroshi bred another of our favourites 'Gojogawa' itself a super garden plant.
Haru Ichiban's bright cerise pink blooms can be almost red when they first open and have a wonderful mauve mottling along the centre of each petal leading to anthers of vibrant cerise pink.
'Haru Ichiban' for £10.00 Only Until 29th Sept.
You will get two flower periods from 'Haru Ichiban', the first in May and June for about 3-4 weeks it's good to prune the dead heads to encourage the second flowering in mid August until the end of September. Flowers are about 4-6 inches across.
A strong plant but with modest height of approx 6-8 feet means it can grow well either in your garden or in a large patio pot.
