February 2019

“There is no religious side to the Movement. The whole of it is based on religion, that is, on the realization and service of God.”

Service and Transition Team
for members of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Welcome to the first issue of Saints & Scouts, the bimonthly newsletter dedicated to Church families and leaders in Scouting.  2019 is pivotal for members of the Church as we remain fully engaged in Scouting, advance youth on the path to Eagle and consider options for 2020 and beyond.

This newsletter will be a resource to families and leaders as they decide how and in what way to remain a part of this transformational movement for youth.  Please peruse the content below, refer to the links that interest you, and reach out if you have questions or desire more information.

Additional issues will appear every two months and will explore other topics related to service and transition, to include

  • how to select a new pack or troop
  • how to create a new unit
  • what other programs are available in scouting
  • an interest survey for Church families and leaders

You can designate your level of interest by selecting the toggles below, and please share this newsletter with others who would benefit from its message.

Be Involved and Engaged!

"A few years ago I was serving as the Primary president in my ward. At first I wasn’t exactly sure what my eleven-year-old son was supposed to be doing in Scouting! I vaguely remembered being told something about parents “not being as involved in Boy Scouts” as they were in Cub Scouts. At first, I thought that meant be “uninvolved.” However, I soon discovered that there were still LOADS of ways I could be involved in my son’s Scouting adventure!..."
