Steve Hammond was a 28-year-old OB/GYN resident who started performing abortions to earn some extra money and because, it turned out, he was especially good at it. According to his own reckoning he performed more than 700 abortions.

In 1990 - Bush signs rights law for nation's disabled

President Bush has signed into law legislation that bans discrimination against the disabled. As 2,000 disabled individuals and their families watched during a White House ceremony July 26, the president signed the Americans with Disabilities Act.
