Project Learning Tree Ohio is now on Social Media
We are excited to announce the creation of two new pages, one on Instagram and the other on Facebook, for Project Learning Tree Ohio! This has been something long discussed as another tool to help connect the community and get more information out about Project Learning Tree and events around Ohio. There is not much on either page, but content is forthcoming, check us out by following the links above or at the bottom of our newsletter. If you have any other ideas for where we could continue to connect, projects or events that are upcoming, let us know!
PLT - Ohio: Meet Our New Support Staff!

Hello, everyone! My name is Ashley, and I am the support staff and Natural Resources Technician for PLT-Ohio and the Division of Forestry! I am a recent grad from Otterbein University, majoring in Environmental Science and had been working primarily in wildlife and research prior to starting with the Division of Forestry. I had my first taste of working with Project Learning Tree in 2019 through a training provided by the amazing education staff at the Dawes Arboretum and have loved every opportunity working with it since! I am very excited to be a part of the Division of Forestry and PLT teams, and if there are any questions, don't hesitate to reach out at
Studies in social psychology have previously documented the ways in which an individual's environment influences their behavior, with a growing body of evidence supporting the idea that exposure to nature can have a positive impact on mood, the connections we make and the ability to empathize with others. Children, especially, have been shown to exhibit fewer behavioral concerns and develop a greater tendency towards connecting with others. You can learn more in reading this article put out by the Children & Nature Network!
