Project Learning Tree’s Carbon & Climate curriculum has been selected a Learning® magazine 2020 Teachers’ ChoiceSM Award for the Classroom winner, earning the seal of approval for outstanding educational value. For 6th-8th grade teachers, Carbon & Climate helps introduce students to some of the complex issues involved in climate change.

  • 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM in the Perry Field House
  • STEM in the Park will feature interactive displays and activities created by area universities, community partners and local businesses to engage children of all ages in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Friday and Saturday
  • 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Sunday
  • $10 for Adults, $5 for Seniors & Kids (7-12) and Kids 6 + under are free!
  • The mission of the Paul Bunyan Show is to provide access to current knowledge and technology which enhances the quality of life and market competitiveness of individuals, families, industries, and communities. This mission is accomplished by showcasing research, products, services, and experience through educational exhibits, presentations, and demonstrations on the forest industries, natural resources and lifestyles.
Wednesday - Friday, October 9th-11th 27th Annual Teachers, Industry & Environment Conference @ Embassy Suites in Columbus, OH
  • The Ohio Chemistry Technology Council’s Teachers, Industry and Environment (TIE) Conference is an exciting "hands on" experience for Ohio’s 3rd through 8th grade science educators and is completely free through the support from the chemical manufacturing industry.
  • The TIE Conference provides educators with a wide-range of science experiments and classroom tools that create interesting and entertaining lessons for students.
Saturday, October 12th "101 Alternatives to the Chalkboard" Educator's Conference @ YMCA Camp Kern in Oregonia, OH
  • The “101” Conference is THE weekend outdoor education experience designed to inspire teachers and outdoor educators with creative ways to provide exciting learning experiences
  • Registration is $30 and includes all sessions, programs, meals and overnight accommodations for all three days. Scholarships and discounts available. Email Dave Moran to register
Friday, October 25th Annual School Garden Conference @ Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center on The Ohio State University campus
  • The sixth Annual School Garden Conference will benefit educators, after-school personnel and other program patrons.
  • The $50 registration fee includes lunch and all materials. A certificate for six contact hours will be available at the end of the conference.
Tuesday - Wednesday, October 29th - 30th Appalachian Green Teacher Conference @ Burr Oak Lodge in Glouster, OH
  • Join Rural Action and CAMP OTY OKWA for the 6th Appalachian Green Teachers Conference at Burr Oak Lodge. This conference will feature concurrent sessions and field trips focused on meeting academic standards through environmental education. Visit to see this year's agenda and session descriptions.
  • Cost is $35 per day, which includes meals. Scholarships are available.

Thursday - Friday, November 14th - 16th NSTA Regional Conference: The Bridge to Endless Possibilities @ Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati, OH
  • Join other science educators across Ohio and surrounding states to re-energize your teaching practice and network with other education professionals. 
  • Conference strands include the following: 
    • Bridging the Three Dimensions of Science Teaching and Learning: Practices, Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts

The Toshiba American Foundation Grants!  
 More than $5,000 awarded to 6-12th grade educators! 

Urban Gardening Grants for 2020 - City of Columbus
The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation and Franklin County offerup to $3,000 to further development of community gardens and greenspace.
Applications open August 30th to October 31st 

A New PLT-Ohio Intern
Hi everyone! My name is Anjelica and I am the new intern for PLT-Ohio. I am a third year studying Natural Resource Management at The Ohio State University. This past summer I had the privilege of interning with ODNR's Office of Communications and I am so excited to continue with Department as the PLT-Ohio intern! Mikayla will still be around to help me as we transition so feel free to message either of us with any questions.
