Hi again, friend.

March For Our Lives California will be holding events in four cities between Saturday, June 15 and Wednesday June 19. In other words, we'll be in four cities over the course of five days.

And what exactly are we doing in those four cities, you ask? The answer to the question is contained in the rest of this email. Fair warning, it's a pretty hefty email.

Activism For Our Lives

Our "week" (who's week starts on Saturday??) kicks off in Centennial Park in Santa Ana and will be run by our Orange County, San Diego, and Inland chapters. There will be art, music, and, of course, the spirit of activism. The event runs from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Town Hall For Our Lives

This event will focus on bringing clarity and awareness to two very important issues affecting the Los Angeles, Ventura and Kern counties. The town hall on June 17th will discuss how gun violence prevention/school safety intersect with the school to prison pipeline and police brutality.

The program of the town hall panel will feature local student activists from March For Our Lives, other partner organizations like Black Lives Matter Youth Vanguard and advocates who have been working on both of these issues for some time. If you would like to partner or work on this event please email

Chapters involved include Los Angeles, Ventura, Bakersfield, and Long Beach.

Mental Health For Our Lives

With 60% of deaths due to firearm being caused by suicide, March For Our Lives California feels very strongly about holding an event purely focused on mental health and how it intersects with firearm accessibility. This event on June 18th will be educational and awareness centered with the goal of enabling the Fresno community to become more knowledgeable on resources available to them and how to prevent suicide by firearm. It will also serve to establish March For Our Lives’ focus on mental health awareness and accessibility in schools and remotely.

Please email if you would like your to be involved.

Lobby For Our Lives

Our "week" ends in Sacramento, the California state capital, on Wednesday, June 19.

The final day of action will be the first ever coalition California Youth Gun Violence Prevention Lobby Day at the Sacramento Capitol on June 19th. We will be connecting with other organizations and working to provide buses to bring as many youth to the capitol as possible. The goal of this effort is to one, make our presence to legislators abundantly clear and two, lobby them to pass some of the bills we have been working on for the past several months. This day will also serve as a hands-on educational experience for those youth activists who have never lobbied before and to see that they can connect with their legislators on issues they care about.

All chapters are encouraged to be involved. If you'd like to help us cohost the event, please email

To register for lobbying, please fill out this form by June 6.

How you can get your chapter involved:

  • Get back in touch with your chapter if it's been a while since you last talked. It's okay, we all have our growing pains.
  • If you haven't already, please follow statewide social media by using the buttons in the footer of this email.
  • If your chapter is in the area of one of these events, please email to be added as a cohost on our Facebook event pages.
  • Share our posts on social media — through your chapter accounts and personal accounts.
  • Invite 5-10 friends to an event near you through Facebook if you can.
  • Ask 5-10 friends to follow either your chapter's social media or the statewide social media so we can reach more people in the state of California.
  • Show up for Lobby Day!
  • Know anyone who isn't suffering with the weight of student loans? Ask them to slide 5-10-20-or-more dollars towards our Lobby Day fund here.
Have a chapter event to promote or a question about a policy? Wondering what the board's favorite colors are? Send your questions, comments, and concerns in an email back and we'll be sure to include them in the next letter.

See you next time, dear friend.
