July 2021 Issue
Greetings to my Pilgrim Church Family and Friends, We have re-entered the church for in-person worship since June and God has been good as we gathered together for worship and celebration of our 158th Church Anniversary.
But now that we have returned to in-person worship, it is clear to so many of us that we can not do church the same way we have been. I am convinced that we must do church differently. Now, how different you might ask?  I would like to hear from you with your suggestions as to what ministries you would like to see occurring at Pilgrim, and what ministries you would like to lead.

It is imperative that we, the body of Christ open our doors as well as our hearts to do the work of the church, missions. The time is now that we reach out to all persons, whether they are on the highway, the hedges, and in the alleys, to take care of the hungry, stand alongside the struggling, visit the sick and the incarcerated, etc. Therefore, I invite you to take part in the creation of the post-COVID-19 Pilgrim.

Please send your suggestions to Bro. Samuel Momah, Chair of the Planning Committee at and Dea. Clarence Kenon, Vice Chair of the Planning Committee at

Or mail your suggestions to the church:

Your suggestions will be discussed and considered for implementation as Pilgrim plans its ministry and for full activity in 2022. I cannot close this note without saying thank you for your patience and financial support during these trying times. But with each day that the Lord blesses you to open your eyes, let each one reach one in Jesus' name.

Pilgrim's Ushers along with the United Ushers of MN volunteered at the House of Refuge in St. Paul. The House of Refuge is a non-profit organization that serves local communities every Wednesday and Saturday. The Ushers distributed vegetables, meat, dairy and more while welcoming and socializing with the recipients. It was enlightening and a blessing to participate in such a worthwhile effort that took them outside of their normal activities and lives. Pilgrim's Ushers plan to continue volunteering throughout the summer.

Pilgrim Ushers: Shirley Barber, Portia Hampton-Flowers, Stephanie Reid and Ferrolin Winston.

As I arise today, May the strength of God pilot me, the power of God uphold me, the wisdom of God guide me. May the eye of God look before me, the ear of God hear me, the word of God speak for me. May the hand of God protect me, the way of God lie before me, the shield of God defend me, the host of God save me. May Christ shield me today.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ  beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit, Christ when I stand, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks  of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me.
