Dear Alumni and Friends,

The law school campus is quieting down as our students finish their fall exams. As we look ahead to 2022, we reflect on another significant year for the Levin College of Law. Together we:
  • Ascended to #21 among all law schools and #6 among public law schools in the U.S. News & World Report rankings
  • Rose to #2 among all law schools in Tax Law
  • Celebrated the life and legacy of our champion and namesake Fredric G. Levin (JD 61) with a transformative $40 million gift from his estate
  • Recruited and enrolled 241 amazing new 1L students who collectively earned a median LSAT score of 167 and a median undergraduate GPA of 3.86
  • Strengthened our student diversity, with 1Ls coming from 34 states and 31% of them identifying as racially and ethnically diverse
  • Welcomed our first class of John Lewis Fellows through the generous support of alumni who funded our new Historically Black Colleges and Universities Pathway to Law scholarship program
  • Enabled 16 practicing lawyers to enroll in our Graduate Tax Program on a part-time basis by offering them the option of joining courses remotely
  • Enrolled over 145 students in courses analyzing the intersection of law and artificial intelligence
  • Received a $100,000 grant from the IRS’s Taxpayer Advocate Service to launch a new Low Income Taxpayer Clinic
  • Founded a new Race and Crime Center for Justice
  • Hired several new career and academic advisors for students
  • Increased the number of employers from across the nation interviewing our students for summer jobs and jobs after graduation
  • Improved the percentage of J.D. students employed at graduation to over 76%
  • Provided funding to more than 100 students working in unpaid government, public interest, and judicial positions over the summer
  • Received more than 3,000 gifts from our generous alumni and friends
  • Approached $150 million in the law school’s endowment, the largest amount of permanently endowed private funds in our history
  • Reached $100 million in funds raised during the Go Greater campaign, surpassing 200% of the law school’s $50 million goal
  • Returned to in-person, residential programs for J.D. students and most LL.M. students after offering in-person, remote, and hybrid options for students during the 2020-2021 academic year
  • Transformed our Bailey Courtroom into an indoor/outdoor flex space for classes and events
  • Recognized several faculty awards and achievements, which you may view on our website
  • Showcased our faculty scholarship and engagement in Artificial Intelligence, Business & Innovation, Clinical Training and Experiential Learning, Dispute Resolution, Environmental, Land Use, & Real Estate Law, Health Law, Global and International Scholarship, Legal Writing and Research, Tax Law and Trial Advocacy.
Thank you for all the ways you have helped UF Law achieve excellence year after year. We are immensely grateful for your unwavering support.
