AnimalhealthEurope News

A new strategic direction

With various policy developments at EU and global level looking at the sustainability of our food systems and the ever-increasing awareness that everyone has a role to play, AnimalhealthEurope has renewed its strategic direction to focus on three priority areas: One Health, Sustainability, and Innovation.

With One Health we look at the inter-dependency of animals, people and the planet, and the role healthy animals play in protecting public health and the health of our environment. For sustainability we look not only to how we can contribute to sustainable food systems, but also how our sector can contribute to a clean, fair and circular economy, alongside healthy and sustainable communities. We believe innovation in animal health and access to advanced technologies will be the enabling tools for both One Health and sustainability. Digital monitoring tools, high-tech diagnostics, and new and improved vaccines are just a few examples of such advances which offer a holistic approach to the optimal animal health and well-being we seek in Europe.
