Greetings,

Thank you for your continuing partnership with the IDC. We are updating our grant application process this year to make it more streamlined and collaborative.

A System Needs Evaluation is the first step in the grant application process. The evaluation will help us understand how you provide local public defense services. This evaluation is mandatory if your system will apply for a grant this year. Either a managing defender or the local person with the most knowledge about local public defense services must complete the evaluation.
The reporting period for this evaluation is 7/1/2020 through 12/31/2020. The submission deadline has been extended to February 19.

After you complete the evaluation, and if you indicate you intend to apply for IDC grant funds, IDC staff will schedule a meeting with your system to discuss the evaluation and develop collaboratively a grant project plan.

The chart below explains the new process.

If you need to save and return to the evaluation form at a later time, you will need to click "next" until you reach the end of the survey and click "submit." This will send you an email with a link that allows you to return at a later time to edit responses.

If the attorneys in your System are using defenderData, here are simple instructions on which reports to run for each question that can be answered using a defenderData report.
