We are streamlining the IDC's grant application and reporting processes. You should already have received a System Needs Evaluation. We are now asking that you fill out a Caseload Survey. We will conduct both the System Needs Evaluation and the Caseload Survey twice a year, replacing the quarterly progress reports. Reimbursement requests will continue to be done quarterly.
The Caseload Survey asks for information on all open cases between 7/1/2020 and 12/31/2020. Each attorney working as a public defender in your system must complete the Caseload Survey to report on their aggregate cases in the system during the reporting period. Caseloads of public defenders can be a strong indicator of their ability to do their jobs effectively for all clients. The information we collect will help us advocate for state funding to support your system.
The deadline for completing and submitting the Caseload Surveys has been extended to February 19. A link to the survey is provided below. Please forward this message to each of your indigent defense attorneys.
