Will you join us again in 2021?

As 2020 draws to a close (what a year!) we want to thank you for your support. It has been a time like no other and the immense support from our community and outpouring of love for our NHS staff has been truly moving.

In 2021 we hope that our activities will gradually return to a more familiar normal. We are keen to pick up our plans for events that will again entertain and delight you and of course raise those much needed funds. We hope you will join us again in 2021.

So, get a cuppa (and maybe a biscuit or two!) take some time out, have a scroll and feel proud of what you have helped to achieve...

Thank you

Contestants from across our hospitals again braved a grilling from our panel of dragons as they pitched for a share of £40,000 - funded from donations to our General Fund and through funding from the NHS Charities Together Covid19 Appeal.

This year winning pitches were for:

- Specialist training for our Neonatal team to provide psychological support to parents, families and staff who witness significant life changing events. Watch the pitch
- A flexible endoscope for assessment of swallowing and speech to improve the care of our critical care patients. Watch the pitch
- Refurbishment of a side room to improve the lives of adult patients with Cystic Fibrosis while they are in our care. Watch the pitch.
And thanks to funds received from the NHS Charities Together an additional £10k was awarded for:
- Virtual Reality for holistic wellbeing and symptom control for oncology and palliative care patients who the COVID19 pandemic has severely affected with their support structures reduced and family visits limited. Watch the pitch.

Helping parents keep in touch...

Imagine being a parent of premature baby and not being able to be with them in hospital at all times. This is the reality for many parents whose baby could be on the Neonatal unit for weeks and sometimes months.

To improve these difficult circumstances, the Neonatal Unit team have used funds donated to the Neonatal Unit Fund of Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity to purchase a video diary system -Vcreate. Read full story
Critical Care Information gateway

Covid19 put a spotlight on the difficult road to recovery that starts for many patients when they leave the Critial Care Unit.

A recent initiative from the Critical Care team, a collection of short films that contain guidance and advice on recovery from a serious illness, the Critical Care Information Gateway, will provide a valuable resource to these patients and their families and friends during the coming weeks and months ahead. Partially funded through the Critical Care Unit Fund, part of RCHT Charity. Read the full story.
