FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Amsterdam, the Netherlands – December 4, 2018 – This week sees the launch of “Picture Party VR,” the first PlayStation VR outing for Force Field Entertainment, creators of popular VR games including “Coaster Combat” and IMAX VR title “Space Flight.” Their newly released VR party game uses the PSVR headset in a new way, turning players’ heads into giant virtual pens.
Martin de Ronde, Force Field’s Chief Creative Officer, explains: “Picture Party is the outcome of an internal game jam where we asked ourselves how we could get more than one person to participate in a VR game. The result was a game best described as ‘Pictionary played by a cyclops.’”
The game turns the traditional word-guessing game literally on its head: in this controller-free virtual version, players use the PlayStation VR headset to draw out a hidden word – using only head movements. Players take turns guessing the word that inspired each other’s doodles, playing together in the two-player Time Challenge or going head to head in Face-Off mode.
De Ronde continues, “The game was an instant hit at our office parties! Which made us realize we should develop a full-blown game for PSVR. The rest is history, and we couldn’t be more proud to see it officially launch on PSVR today!”
“Picture Party VR” is now available for download in the European PlayStation Store, and will be available in the US PlayStation store from December 5.
