FASPE is pleased and proud to announce that Dana Remus, a FASPE Law Faculty and member of the FASPE Academic Committee, has been named by President-Elect Biden to be Counsel to the President in the Biden White House.
Dana had been counsel to the Biden campaign. She had previously been Chief White House Ethics Counsel under President Obama and, following his departure from office, Dana was counsel to the Obama Foundation before joining the Biden campaign.
President-elect Biden has pledged to maintain the highest ethical standards in his administration. We are certain that Dana will play a key role in ensuring compliance with that goal. She has spoken extensively about the meaning of ethics and ethical behavior within the White House context, noting, for example, the importance of the unwritten norms and ethical constructs, completely nonpartisan, that typically guide and inform activities such as the issuance of lawful and properly vetted Executive Orders, the choice of key personnel, the use of and reliance on Executive Power, and the lines between politics and governing. Dana embodies ethical leadership, the guiding FASPE principle.
FASPE is honored by its association with Dana. We look forward to the benefits that America will enjoy as a result of her service in the White House. To read more, including about Dana’s background, click here: New York Times article.
