Preschool Sweatshirts

We are considering ordering Katoomba Leura Preschool sweatshirts that families are able to purchase making getting dressed on a preschool winter's morning a breeze!  Please advise whether you would be interested in purchasing these by emailing Dianne at and advising the number you would consider purchasing, the size and the colour your child would prefer.

Return and Earn

Bottles, cans and cartons make up a large proportion of the litter on our streets, bushland and green spaces. Tackling the problem costs millions of dollars every year. Return and Earn is a way for us all to help solve the litter problem and also help your Community Preschool at the same time. Take a look at Ava below, letting us all know which bottles to bring to preschool.  The bins for dropping off your bottles are situated just inside the preschool gates.  We are most grateful for any bottles you are able to drop off.

StEPS Eye Screening

The StEPS program is an initiative of NSW Health and offers all 4 years old children free vision screening. NSW Health advises all children to have their vision screened before they start school and strongly recommends that all four year old children participate in the vision screening program. The upcoming Eyey Screening at preschool will be in May and envelopes for eligible children will be sent out at the beginning of Term 2.

Updated Child Safety Handbook now available

Police Legacy, a not-for-profit organisation, have released an updated edition of the Child Safety Handbook, a tool designed to communicate safety messages, tips and advice to schools, services, parents and the community.

Supported by the Children’s Guardian, and including endorsements from the NSW Governor and the Premier, this manual is an additional tool to assist the community to protect all children in NSW to ensure their health and safety.

The guide can be found online and shared with families via provider websites or newsletters.

Kirsty has been working with the children to bring about a positive change in our playground, moving towards a more natural environment with unique and exciting play structures for our children to enjoy.
The children's voices in this process have been invaluable and important.  If you have any ideas, please feel free to chat to Kirsty to incorporate them into this wonderful project
