Dear Parents and Caregivers,

How are you holding up? If you are like me, you are finding these times deeply challenging - between Covid, distance learning, the fires, and other stresses, it is a hard time. And how do you possibly keep your patience or your sense of humor when you are feeling maxed out? How do you manage the whining, the fighting, the aggression, the stubbornness when you are depleted.

I took a Hand in Hand parenting class when I was really struggling with 3 young children. I knew that time was flying and that I would some day miss them, but I was often unable to enjoy it in the moment. I was exhausted from power struggles, too tired to be creative, and felt guilty about not being a better parent. Hand in Hand set us on a whole new trajectory that led to incredible closeness and brought the laughter and closeness back into our home. My kids are older now and Hand in Hand one of the things in our life that I am most grateful for.

I hope you will consider joining a small group of like-minded parents for an upcoming 6-Week Starter Class this fall. If you are new to Hand in Hand, the starter class will give you a firm grounding in Hand in Hand parenting. If you have some familiarity with Hand in Hand, the class will help you deepen your understanding and support you in being the parent you want to be. We will cover one parenting tool per week. Collectively these tools will help you deepen your relationship with your child, set limits confidently, and will lead to a more playful and joyful home life. We'll also cover lots of tips for staying connected to your children through the holidays. The class will be small, with lots of time for individual attention and personal support.

I hope you will join us.

Warmly,  Kristan

  • Bring more play and laughter into your home
  • Build cooperation
  • Understand and manage aggression
  • Handle tantrums confidently
  • Ease sibling rivalry
  • Build a stronger connection with your child
  • Create support for yourself
Upcoming 6-week Starter Class Dates:

(skipping 11/24)

From Hand in Hand's online classroom, you will get:
• Access to videos by Patty Wipfler, founder of Hand in Hand Parenting, teaching the whole Starter Class. She is absolutely wonderful & so are her videos. You'd watch them at home - roughly 1 hour per week.
• 9 downloadable instructional booklets on parenting challenges and 6 downloadable chapters of the Parent’s Starter Class Handbook
• 6-months access to the online classroom

From me you will get:
• 6 weekly Zoom meetings, which will allow for Q&A, discussion, and listening time for each participant.
• Email consultations with me as needed between our virtual meetings.

From the combination, you will get: a strong and potentially lifelong support network for your parenting. You will learn how to help your child when their behavior goes off track, and how to prevent them from getting to that point so often. You'll learn how to determine when limits are needed and how to set them effectively. You'll develop more resourcefulness and the ability to handle situations playfully. You will gain confidence, rediscover some of the joy in parenting, and will feel your relationship with your child deepen.

"There is a lightness in our family that wasn't there before."

"I finally found a philosophy of parenting that is intelligent, loving, and ... best of all ... works! It has honestly transformed our family because it doesn't focus on surface level behaviors or short-term fixes. It helped us understand the emotions underneath behaviors, and gave us specific tools to nurture the connections within our family."

" I have become a more confident parent."
