In March, Seattle Met Magazine ran a feature story called "The Future of Healthcare is Female" about 10 reasons to be optimistic about women's health in Washington State. In the section "Black Lives Matter in Medicine," Dr. Kemi Doll (Gyn-Onc) was featured as a champion against health inequities in the system affecting black women. To read it, go to bit.ly/kemiseattlemet. We are so proud of you, Dr. Doll, for this critical advocacy!
On May 16th, Dr. Chris Herndon (REI) and Annie Kuo (PR Director) will join forces in DC as leaders in the Washington State delegation for Infertility Advocacy Day. The day on Capitol Hill is hosted by RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association and ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine). Annie co-authors RESOLVE's Create Change blog and leads the morning training for all advocates. Dr. Herndon leads the Access to Care Special Interest Group at ASRM. Together, they will give a report on KING-5 News following their return.

To support their advocacy efforts, please consider signing a constituent letter by May 8th at resolve.org/advocacyday. (Or go directly to tinyurl.com/2019ADletter.)

WOMEN'S HEALTH (UWMC)

"Everyone I encountered were friendly and courteous to my needs." (Dr. Mendiratta)

"Love it at UW." (Dr. Raymond)

"My doctor is amazing. I love her." (Dr. Debiec)

"I think Dr. Miller is very skilled at surgery. I really appreciate the care I received from him and others on my care team for my surgical results. His quirky sense of humor is something I look forward to."

"Moreni was exceptional with excellent bedside manner."

"Mendiratta is a superb doctor, always informed, curious and very kind. Thank you!"

"I think the staff at the Women's Clinic are wonderful. And as my primary care person, Karen Carlson, is the best! I hope she never retires!"

MATERNAL-FETAL MEDICINE

"We have loved our experience with Dr. Fay throughout. The fact that she made a point to be there was so great. We didn't necessarily expect it. We were so surprised in such a good way that we were able to see her all the way through and that she had such thoughtful conversations with us during labor was really great. The amount of attention we received from her was so great."
GYN-ONCOLOGY

"Dr. Goff was spectacular.  She saved my life with surgery and chemo.  I am a senior in high school and will graduate this year. She has kept me encouraged about my health."

"Appointment for second opinion and I received excellent service.  The physician was amazing with his knowledge of cancer and treatment.  Superior service!" (Dr. Tamimi)

"The scheduler for Dr. Gray, Demetra Tann, has been extremely kind and helpful with accommodating my requests. Also, nurse Tami Martinello has been very helpful with assisting me to get medications that I need and following up on concerns and questions I have." (Dr. Gray)

"Barbara (Silko) is great, and the intern Heather was also wonderful."

"Dr. Swisher is very tentative and passionate.  I am so fortunate to be under her care. She is the best.  The nurse who checked me in also is very caring. Unfortunately I forgot her name.  She is Filipino with a beautiful smile."

"Dr. Barb Norquist and her assistant Mary Jane make my experience positive and I wish to thank both of them for my excellent care under them."

"I was there for a second opinion on Ovarian Cancer treatments. Doctor Tamimi and his nurse were very thorough and thoughtful."

"I don't have any suggestions.  I would not pick one person over another. I thought they all treated me with respect and honored the reason I was there." (Dr. Gray)

"I have no suggestions for improvement other than 'cloning' Dr. Urban so more folks have access to her."
