OUSL Awards Staff Exchange Fellowship to Dr. Aminudin Zuhairi
and Dr. Jeetendra Pande
The Open University of Sri Lanka awarded two AAOU Inter – university Staff Exchange Fellowships for the year 2019 for a period of one month each. Fellowship recipients are Dr. Aminudin Zuhairi from University of Terbuka, Indonesia and Dr. Jeetendra Pande from Uttarakhand Open University, India.
Chancellor Bandalaria Speaks at 7th Asia-Europe Foundation Rector’s Conference in Romania
Chancellor Bandalaria talked in the Working Group Session for the second sub-theme of the conference entitled “Taking Action at Community Level: SDGs as Drivers of University Societal Impact.” The session focused on how good practices of universities translate universal Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into local action; how communities can be engaged in knowledge transfer; and what partnerships can be fostered to increase social impact.
The ARC7 was attended by 150 university leaders, policy makers, and representatives from non-governmental education organizations; and 51 student leaders from 51 countries in Asia and Europe.
UPOU wins Gold for Community Outreach in eLearning Forum
The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) was recognized for its unwavering passion and dedication to community-based extension work during the recently concluded eLearning Forum Asia (eLFAsia) 2019. The event, which was held on 29-31 May 2019 at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, served as a venue to advance knowledge of the use of information technology in teaching and learning in the Asian educational community.
The Universitas Terbuka (UT) is offering a short-term fellowship program to faculty and staff from different universities locally and abroad to provide a platform for capacity-building and establishment of sustainable partnerships as well as fostering knowledge exchange on ODeL.
Period of the program: up to 2 weeks (6-20 October 2019) Number of fellowships: 2 (from different institutions) Deadline of application: 1 August 2019 Notice of acceptance: 23 August 2019
UT will provide the successful fellowship candidates with the following:

Singapore University of Social Sciences to Host ASCILITE 2019
ASCILITE will be having its 36th run this year, and it will be hosted by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), Singapore, from 2nd to 5th December 2019. SUSS would like to extend their warmest invitation to the members of AAOU to join them at the conference to explore and exchange best practices and thought leadership ideas on how technology can drive the future of higher education with over 300 Asia Pacific-based academics and professionals.
